The children that are in the concrete operational stage are the ones from ages 7 to 1. According to Piaget the concrete operational stage is where children start thinking logically or have the maturity to use logical thoughts when talking about physical objects, solving problems in a logical way. For xample, a child this age can differnciate same quantity in different appearance.
It is imortant fr teachers to know how and what a concrete operational child is able to do in order to help him do what he is able to do or to reach that stage. Otherwise, the teacher will be expecting things he is not able to do yet. Another thing that is important to know is the attention span for learning. The attention span is chroological age + 1. For example: a child 7 years old + 1 (7 + 1 = 8). 8 refers to the minutes he is able to be focus on a learning activity.
Finally, something very important i learnt is that children show their needs by their behavior. Why they show it like this? because the have not enough words to express their needs. As teachers, we should be aware of it and not punish them because it is not just for miss behavoir but for necessities they need to show.
