Case of study
Piaget considered the concrete operational stage is a major turning point in the child's cognitive development, because it marks the beginning of logical or operational thought. The child is now mature enough to use logical thought or operations (i.e. rules) but can only apply logic to physical objects (hence concreteoperational). Children in this stage are from 7 to 11 years old.
My case of study is to show if Piaget's theory is true in a child of our coountry. I chose one of my nephews: Abraham Ismael Calderon Martinez, he is 10 years old. He is in fourth grade at Complejo Educativo Jorge Larde. He lives with mom, dad and brother.
I did three short experiments to demonstrate if he had gain the ability of conservation. Th ability of conservation is the understanding that something remains the same eventhough it changes in appearance.

The first experiment consisted on showing him two glasses of the same shape and colors and the same quantity of water. I asked him which of them had more water or if he thought they had the same quantity of water. He answer, without doubting that they had the same quantity of water. Then, I poured the water of one glass to a different one so that it seems it had less water. I asked him the same question and he answer that the new glass had less water but thought it for a while and answer: It is the same quantity but is because of the glass that looks defferent.
